Mr. E’s Detox Diet Plan

This diet is recommended when taking any formulas used for detox and cleansing. This is a raw, mucus-less diet. If followed correctly this diet will aid the cleansing process and help the body shed some weight.

Vegetables

All vegetables must have seeds and be eaten raw in order to absorb the maximum amount of nutrients. Fermented Vegetables are okay! Vegetables can be consumed throughout the day. Sea vegetable and micro green consumption is greatly encouraged.

Fruits

Must have seeds and be eaten raw. Fruit is best consumed before, during, and after activity due to some fruit having high sugar content.  Fruits, especially those with high sugar content, should be eaten mid day, unless you consume them during activity.  Doing this ensures your body uses the sugars for energy throughout the day.

Avoid: Canned fruits, frozen items, and fruits soaked in syrup.

Nuts/Seeds

Nuts and seeds are packed with vitamins, nutrients, proteins, and fatty acids. They make a great addition to salads and can complete a meal. Sprouted seeds are a good source of micro nutrients. Nuts and seeds can be eaten throughout the day. Seed Examples: Chai, flax, hemp, pumpkin, watermelon, sunflower, squash. Nut Examples: Brazil, Almonds, Walnuts, Pistachios, Macadamia, etc

Grains

All grains are not the same. The processed grains used to make bread lack all nutrients. They must go an enrich or fortify the flours  with synthetic vitamins and minerals. This is why we must avoid bread sold in sotres and make our own. The following grains can be made in to flour, breads, and pasta: Whole Grain Barley, Whole Rye, Freekeh, Buckwheat, Bulgur, Quinoa*, Spelt, Amaranth, Teff, Millet, Kamut, Farrow

Avoid: White and wheat breads, whole wheat breads, pasta, white flours (bleached and unbleached), baked foods, rice, noodles

*Quinoa can be boiled and eaten like porridge instead of oatmeal. Mix with coconut or almond milk.

Beverages

Spring Water, High PH Water, Coconut Water, Almond Milk, Hemp Milk,  Seed and Nut Milks, Infused  Waters*,  Fresh squeezes juice ( no added sugars)

Avoid: Soy milk, sugary drinks, alcohol, wine, soda, milk, coffee, tap  water artificial and natural sweeteners

Dairy

Everything Off limits

Meat

Everything Off limits

Sweeteners

Organic Maple Syrup, Agave, Stevia, Raw Honey, Manuka Honey, Organic Dark Chocolate

Avoid: All artificial sweeteners, refined sugars, cookies, donuts, pastries, and candy

Wake up

There are a number of good options for breakfast. They must be taken from the approved food list.  Plant based protein shakes, porridge made from approved grains (quinoa) and fruit with small sugar content.

10am-5pm

This is the time which you should take in your fruits, and approved beverages. You can continue to eat the approved vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. During these hours it’s best to consume these items because you are the most active. During theses hours the naturally occurring sugars taken in from the fruits and beverages can be burnt rather than stored.

Fruits and beverages with high sugar content shouldn’t be consumed after this time because the pancreas needs time to detoxify and cleanse itself. If you didn’t eat the approved heavy proteins within the allotted time its ok. You can get an abundant source of protein from the seeds, nuts and grains listed above.

7pm- Bed

With in these hours, no more solid food should be consumed because the body is preparing to cleanse itself and rest.  Water, plant based protein shakes, soups( not from can), juiced vegetables should be  consumed during this time. If you need to eat something solid, in the beginning, you can have a small salad (it will go through your system quickly).

It is best to start juicing you meals after 6pm to ensure your stomach and digestive tract is clear and can properly detoxify itself and rest while you sleep.

This plan is designed to enable your body to absorb the maximum amount of nutrients while your body is going through the detoxifying process. Good nutrient intake is essential to a healthy functioning body.

Note: This meal plan is for those who aren’t dieting/detoxing. This plan works well for those who still eat meat, but still wish for their body to run as close to peak efficiency as possible.  This plan is set for those that wake up early. If you don’t wake up early, that’s fine. Adjust the time to your schedule and follow accordingly.

Wake Up

6am-11am

This the time we should be taking in our heavy proteins. They have the longest transit time from mouth to rectum, so taking them in early gives the body the entire day to move them properly so your  body can go through its natural detoxifying phase while you rest. After the later portion of the time no heavy proteins are to be eaten, other wise you run the risk of having your body work through the night. This drains energy that should be stored for the next day.

It is best to eat your heavy proteins with vegetables, especially: dark leafy greens, bitter greens, or quinoa.  These aid the digestive process and can be passed along with the heavy protein because they don’t require a lot of energy to pass. If you do consumer yogurt it is best eaten wither on its own or with fruit. Avoid eating yogurt more than 3 days a week.
